New Years Outfits - New Looks for Your Little Old Black Dress. Part 1.

Style

If you are anything like me, then you woke up this morning, checked your bank account, and realized that this holiday drained a larger portion of your funds than you had planned for (as always), leaving you with little to no spending room for a fabulous New Years dress. What to do.. what to do…

No worries, it happens. Here’s what we’re gonna do. First plan of action, steal something from your sister’s closet. Let’s be honest, you’ve never even seen her wear it. She won’t even notice if it’s gone for a few days. Buttt if that doesn’t work out, the second plan of action is to spice up that little black dress you’ve worn a thousand times, turning it into an outfit that everyone will think is brand-spankin-new. While this may sound a bit Fairy Godmother-ish, it is indeed possible and the most affordable solution. So bippity, boppoty, freakin-boo.

Little Black Dress

I’m gonna show you three different ways to transform that boring black dress into a ball gown (figuratively speaking, of course)…

#1 - Elegant and Classy

Now, before you write this off as boring, hear me out. That not-quite-silver / not-quite-gold look is definitely hot right now. And hey, maybe it’s that time to start dressing a little more classy, after all, we are not in college anymore–I know, I know, it’s hard to hear out loud, I’m sorry. Anywho, grab some pewter, shimmery heels, like Steve Madden’s Dessert Shoes for only $59.99. If you prefer more of a muted gold, go for Steve Madden’s Golden Gallaa Shoes for $39.99.

Ok, now that you have your shoes. Let’s accessorize shall we? In an affordable manner, of course. Find larger, sparkly–not to be confused with obnoxious however–ring for your middle finger on your left hand. I’m just kidding, I’ll give you the liberty to wear it on the finger of your choosing. Much like the Carole Bubble Ring for a mere $10.00. Why so cheap you ask? Well, if you have smaller fingers like myself, check out the girl’s section for rings. I know it sounds pathetic, but they still have cute rings and, trust me, you’re not going to find a comparable ring for $10.00 in the adult’s section.

As for the earrings, keep it simple and elegant. Wear your hair with slight waves or curls, and then go with the sparkley stud look on your ears. Since your shoes are pewter, they can go with a light silver or gold. I would recommend the silver, but that’s just me. Check out these Nadri Pavé Ball Stud Earrings which come in both silver and gold. Plus, these sexy studs are on currently on sale, marked down from $50.00 to only $35.00.
