New Sleepwear Products

Sleeping Kid

What is the most effective way of getting those extra couple seconds of sleep packed into a day? You can avoid the whole “getting ready for bed” and “getting out of bed” processes by simply wearing what you sleep in. No, I’m not talking about the clothes you sleep in. I’m talking about literally what you sleep in…or on.

Grandma’s New Gadget

Gadgets & Gismos, Trend Stopper No Comments

USB ShawlAt last, someone has finally thought of grandma when designing computer comfort accessories. No longer will she shake in the frigid cold while either hitting up her MySpace account or buying vinyls on EBay.

Yet another line has been crossed when it comes to ridiculous gadgets. USB plugs have been converted to electrical outlets for powering coffee warmers, slippers, gloves and even kneepads. Now this… I wanna know who gave the go-ahead on the USB shawl.

We may soon have to upgrade to 56-port usb hubs to accommodate all these wonderful little inventions. I mean, when you’re reaching for your memory stick at work and realize your shawl and leg warmers are taking up all your ports, is it really worth it to suffer the cold for those few minutes?

I guess what really upsets me is that this shawl isn’t Bluetooth compatible. Maybe we have that to look forward to in the 2.0 version…

Glowing Power Cable - Support a Bright Future

Power-Aware Chord

Now here’s something that not only looks cool, but is doing something good for the environment–definitely a product of our generation.

This Power-Aware cable measures the amount of energy being used by the intensity of the glowing. The idea behind the glow-in-the-dark power cable is that if we can actually see how much energy we’re consuming, maybe we’d opt to be a little more conscious when choosing to leave our devices on all night.

Hmm putting our wasteful habits out there in the open where it is hard to ignore instead of hiding it behind a couch…interesting thought…

iPod Video Goggles

Ever think those Star Trek glasses would become stylish and trendy? Ya, me neither. So when I saw what I’m about to bring to your attention, naturally I was more than impressed. Virtual video goggles for your video iPod. Ohh yes.

iPod Virtual Goggles

Plug these babies directly into your iPod and see a projected 24 inch screen in front of you. No batteries, cables, or bulk. These virtual goggles just feed off of the power from your iPod. They don’t get very hungry however, seeing as though a 30-gig iPod lasts longer than two hours.

You can wear these inside or outside, literally taking your favorite videos, tv shows, and music videos everywhere with you.

MyVu Solo Plus Edition iPod Goggles If you want to step it up, go for the MyVu Solo Plus Edition Goggles. At only $199.95, the Solo Plus Edition works with the whole iPod collection: video iPod, iPod touch, iPod nano, iPod classic, and all the 5th generation video iPods. These also can be charged with a polymer battery, which steps up your viewing pleasure to four hours!

Style is important… but in this case, I think we’ll make an exception!

Vote Wii

Gadgets & Gismos No Comments

Nintendo Wii If you are like me, then you have been trying to find a Wii since the day they came out. I’m never in the right place at the right time so of course it came as no surprise to me when I would show up at Target 5 minutes after they had just sold their last Wii. After weeks of hearing, “I’m sorry, we’re all sold out,” you start to lose your ammo.

Well guess what? Not only do we now have a chance at getting a Wii, but we can get one for only $79! Amazon is starting a huge sale on Thanksgiving Day and all you have to do is go vote for the Wii over the PS3 and 360. Of course there is a slight catch, as with all good things in life, but it is still a great deal.

iPhone Finger Condoms - Remember to Practice Safe Texts

iPhone Fingers

Hold the phone (no pun intended)… you mean my iPhone isn’t self-cleaning after all? Gasp. I could’ve sworn I heard that somewhere. Or maybe it was self-healing… yes, regeneration, that was it. Silly me.

Of course. Why wouldn’t you put two black rubber sleeves on your fingers before touching your phone? I am so relieved that someone finally thought of a solution to prevent scandalous and promiscuous finger prints from touching the blessed iPhone screen in all of its innocence.

My question is, do people just always have these on? Or do they whip them on as the phone is ringing… Because that would be just so convenient to have rubber fingers on all the time. In fact, maybe we can learn to limit all finger contact to the pointer finger and thumb. Imagine–driving, sipping a cup of tea, petting your dog–these rubbers really have the potential to change the world.

Although, maybe they should make skin-colored rubber fingers… or maybe they should invent a surgery where you can rubbertize the skin on your thumb and pointer finger so that you don’t leave a smudge on anything!

Discuss amongst yourselves…

Mac Enthusiasts

Gadgets & Gismos 2 Comments

Apple began to make its attack on Generation Limbo with the emergence of stylish technology. First, the commonality of the iPod spread in 2003 as the iPod mini flooded college campuses. Then came the MacBook notebook computer, easing PC users into Mac life with an adorable and manageable lap top. Just as the tech-savvy crowd was getting sucked into this phenomenon, the MacBookPro became more and more common. The Mac craze is not limited to but definitely has grown up with GenLimbo, which in turn has spawned the products of this stylish technology revolution, whom I like to refer to as Mac Enthusiasts.
iPod Family

Mac enthusiasts demonstrate the true meaning of “brand advocates.” Not only do they love the brand, but they truly live it. Examples? Those crazies who were camped out in the rain in front of the Apple Store the night before the iPhone came out. The people who truly have the whole iPod family (Shuffle, Nano, Classic, iTouch…). The people who purchased the iPhone in the first week because they figured those 2 extra months of having the phone would cause enough joy and happiness to justify the extra $200. Those who will not plug their MacBookPro into the same power strip as a PC. If you read AppleInsider as part of your morning ritual. You know who you are.

If you are one of these Mac Enthusiasts of which I speak of, hats off to you. And Steve Jobs, hats off to you as well. Thank you for creating such an inspiring brand that we (Mac Enthusiasts) can all truly admire and want to be a part of, constantly producing new ideas and products which keep us guessing what and when the next will make its appearance.
